Our own social commitment

One focus of our firm lies in the legal and tax support of SMEs and consulting for discerning private individuals and non-profit organisations. We cannot credibly represent the responsibility of private individuals for the general good unless we take our own social commitments seriously. Therefore our team supports many non-profit projects on an honorary basis thus contributing to participation and playing a part in a lively civil society.

Jörg Verstl is honorary Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Buhck Foundation. The foundation gives children and young people thought-provoking impulses concerning environmental responsibility and eases the integration of young people of migrant background in our society. The foundations sees itself as an instigator and idea generator. The Buhck Foundation initiates and fosters regional projects in Hamburg-Bergedorf and the neighbouring rural districts Stormarn and the Duchy of Lauenburg. Florian Asche is an honorary member of the board of trustees of the German Wildlife Foundation. The foundation preserves habitats for wildlife in Germany and campaigns among politicians and industry for protection of habitats. Further information can be found at www.deutschewildtierstiftung.de

Michael Stein is honorary Chairman of the board of the Foundation for the Promotion of the Bucerius Law School. The Bucerius Law School is the first private university for law in Germany with the right to award doctorates and habilitations. It was founded in 2000 by the ZEIT Foundation Ebelin and Gerd Bucerius. The foundation promoting this law school contributes to ensuring the financial independence of the school in the future. Jörg Verstl is vice honorary Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Association of Friends of the foundation; the main purpose of which lies in work with the disabled and it is one of the most well-known foundations with one of the longest traditions in Germany. Florian Asche is an honorary member of the board of the foundation. This foundation is based on the basic idea that conservation and use of natural resources should be considered together. In view of dwindling resources, conservation excluding the use of these resources can only be of limited effect. Florian Asche is honorary Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the St. John Hospital Geesthacht. This facility belongs to the organisations of the Chivalric Order of St. John of the Hospital at Jerusalem and ensures healthcare in the South Elbe/Ostheide region. Torsten Glockemann is actively engaged as an honorary member of the board of the foundation. The Karlheinz Löhr Foundation promotes measures in youth welfare, education and upbringing of young people and promotes work with the elderly.

Florian Asche has been an honorary member of the board of the Max Schmeling Foundation www.Max-Akademie-Strasburg.de since 2000. The foundation established by the former world champion heavyweight boxer focuses on supporting, primarily in Western Pomerania, the elderly and young people in preserving and developing a lively community in rural areas. Jörg Verstl is an honorary member of the board of the Hamburg Theater Festival Foundation. The festival took place in the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg for the 8th time in 2015 and is a project of the private and non-profit Hamburg Theater Festival Foundation. The aim is to support Hamburg on its continued path to becoming a cultural metropolis and festival city and to promote the theatre. Every year visitors await much-discussed and inspirational theatre productions from the German-speaking regions. The board passes resolutions on the use of funds in close collaboration with the director of the festival, Dr. Nikolaus Besch. Torsten Glockemann is an honorary member of the board of the Kinderjahre Foundation. The foundation campaigns for opportunities for disadvantaged children, including with individual support and reading projects in schools and private institutes as well as experiencing and learning about good fortune, e.g. in the project “school subject good fortune”.

Florian Asche is an honorary member of the board of this foundation which is primarily concerned with environmental protection and nature conservation in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, in particular in terms of combining forest and wildlife in an equal community in the habitat www.wald-und-wild.de. Jörg Verstl is a member of the board of Wissen schaffen e.V. The purpose of this non-profit association is to establish a network of alumni and friends of German universities as well as effecting permanent donations and sponsoring projects for the benefit of these universities. The association became known throughout Germany with the project Ex Libris. This project set up a national communication platform via which friends and alumni could make contact with their universities. It is also a donation project benefitting troubled university libraries. Jörg Verstl is the honorary President of the HTZ. The trotting track at Hamburg-Bahrenfeld has a long tradition; the first harness races were held in 1880. Today it is one of the most up-to-date tracks in Europe. Further information can be found at www.trabhamburg.de

Jörg Verstl is an honorary member of the board of Gesellschaft Harmonie. The members act in the tradition of the Hamburg civil society; they bear responsibility as citizens by personally committing themselves for the good of Hamburg. Anja Knoop is honorary executive member of the board of the phönikks foundation. The foundation established in 1986 helps young families affected by cancer with psychological counselling and psychotherapeutic support. The foundation is financed exclusively through donations. Anja Knoop is honorary member of the board of the association of friends of the KiTa Rissen e.V. the association of friends supports the protestant day care centre in purchasing teaching materials and facilitates excursions and other special events.
